MISSION STATEMENT: “The Mission of the Capital Area Budokai is to establish and maintain a high-quality, multi-use Bu-Dojo for the use of our Instructors, members and their guests; and to support and promote traditional Japanese Budo in Northern Virginia.”

Budokai Student Creed

“I hereby promise and vow to dedicate myself to the study of (circle applicable arts) BATTO-DO JODO KENDO KYUDO NAGINATA and any other Japanese art into which I may be accepted in this school. I promise to regularly attend the practice sessions of the Capital Area Budokai; to diligently focus my attention on the instruction of the Sensei(s) and the senior students; and to faithfully and respectfully observe the practice of proper conduct (reiho) and class etiquette (dojo reigi) as observed in this school.

I promise that I will promptly remit my local and federation dues (dojo gessha) to the appropriate corporate officer. I furthermore affirm that I will seek to cultivate the character virtues of Budo, which are discipline, perseverance, humility, patience, loyalty, enlightenment and gratitude for the privilege of being accepted as a member of this school.”
